#The slow burn free#
The Combat is actual really Good in the game (Default controls are terrible But once you Set it to Free aim and Turn up sensitivity Your Golden) and you learn to Fight people in that Slow methodic six Shooter/ Repeater rifle Style, Learn to Hunt, and Most importantly Learn to Talk to your gang at Camp. The entire Into Sets your Expectations For the Game as it Get's you accustomed to the Slow Burn of the Game. Such a Great decision to start the Story In Media Res and Make the Characters feel like real people dealing with this Harrowing situation. The Game is immediately Very Cinematic and Engrossing and I Vividly Remember how Engaged I was that First Night after Launch Picking up Little Clues about what's Going on.
I was Very quickly Sucked into the Desperation of the Crew surviving on the mountain, And this Game is All about Survival Not just for Arthur but the Adopted Family he Loves and I Grew to Love. Red Dead has a Great Opening I have played it 4 Times Now. While I say I would not cut "any" of it that's a slight exaggeration sure you can cut stuff here and there if you really want to but I think the Whole game is Paced well. I completely Understand The Game is not For Everybody and I don't mean that in a Assholey way I legit Understand That People were going in Looking For Rootin Tootin Cowboy Shootin and did not get the Game they were expecting, Hell I was Hyped for Rootin Tootin Cowboy Shootin and the Game was not What I was Expecting at all, However I absolutely Fell in Love with this Story and these amazing well realized characters and Love that I could Log in and Play for 3-4 Hours Hanging out at Camp and Riding around to do small chores without Firing a Gun Once.Īll right now to Jump in to Talk about each section of the Game and What I think they add to the game and How they Justify there existence. The Very Last level also goes on a Bit for what it is.ĭifferent types of Stories Require Different Pacing and While Last of Us Part 2 is Too Long for the Intense Thriller that story is (at Times) The Much Longer RDR2 is Paced Just Right for it's Character Centric Dive into the Daily Life of Outlaws. Part 2 Needs a Directors Cut Both losing a few sections and Re-arranging some events so your not sitting on that Cliffhanger so Long. I am not somebody that thinks Pacing is Not important or that "You Can't Have too much of a Good thing", Another of my Favorite Games Last Gen Last of Us Part 2 is a Few Hours Too Long and would have been a Better game if it was a Tighter During Both the First Half and the Second Half. I can easily say RDR2 is the most Immersive Game I have ever played and the Pace of of the Game was a important part of How your sucked into the World. The Game came along at a Important time for me were Life was not great and Completely transported me to a new world for a couple of months. Red Dead Redemption is My GOTG and in my Top 5 Games of all time.
